Concrete Culture transforms historic spaces into thriving hubs for immersive culture and technology.
Concrete Culture works with art, culture, and technology to give new life to historic buildings and neighbourhoods.
By transforming these spaces, we aim to make a positive social impact, boost local economies, strengthen communities, and help prevent displacement through gentrification.
Our main projects include KATOENHUIS I Imagining New Realities (a 5,500 m² former cotton warehouse in the heart of Rotterdam's Maker District, M4H) and KOELHUIS Eindhoven (a former Campina cold storage facility). Both locations have been repurposed to focus on Immersive Experiences (IX) and offer shared workspaces, studios, and presentation venues that support creative and technical talent.
By bringing together a diverse mix of artists, technologists, and makers under one roof, our initiatives create spaces for research, experimentation, and public presentations. In doing so, we help grow the immersive technology sector in the Netherlands and strengthen its connection to local communities.

Development

What we do
Wherever a property or (industrial) heritage site has the potential to add cultural value to an area’s revitalisation, Concrete Culture develops site-specific cultural concepts that foster positive social and cultural change.

Concepts & creation
We create (urban) concepts with culture at their foundation, resulting in locations and sites we actively curate to bring the concept to life.

Venues
We operate cultural locations with work, exhibit and lab facilities. Actively creating connections between our locations

Asset & community management
We manage locations that house active creative, innovative or technical communities.
